Portable Appliance Testing
The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 S.I. No 299 of 2007 Section 3 Part 81 which came into force on the 1st November 2007 requires that:
All electrical portable appliances have to be periodically tested by a competent person to reduce or eliminate the risk of electric shock/fatal injury. It covers virtually any appliance that plugs into a socket including hand tools for 110 volt and 220 volt equipment, IT/Office equipment, extension leads, kitchen appliances etc.
The requirement for Pat testing applies to all places of work including industrial/commercial premises, schools, offices, hotels, restaurants/bars and even hired rental equipment.
Eleco staff are certified for the inspection and testing of all electrical equipment. All our inspections are carried out in accordance with the Institute of Electrical Engineers’ (IEE) Code of Practice. Our clients are provided with a full copy of results together with a certificate of compliance.
